I pulled the car round, flattened the back seats and threw as much as I could in, driving it up and stacking it on a pallet at the top of our drive and then going back for more. I did it in three trips.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-755\" title=\"firewood_2\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/firewood_2.jpg\" alt=\"The firewood being stacked\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/firewood_2.jpg 640w, https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/firewood_2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>My stacking skills are not as sharp as they ought to be, so I had one small collapse, but I managed to fit it all on there not more than a meter high, and hopefully stable enough not to fall down.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-756\" title=\"firewood_3\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/firewood_3.jpg\" alt=\"the stack finished\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/firewood_3.jpg 640w, https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/firewood_3-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>I put the remainder down near the house, as much as would fit. I chucked it down the stone steps from the car, and from there, piled it into the little trolley Lea donated, which was a lot more efficient than carrying it in armloads.
