{"id":2515,"date":"2016-03-13T18:24:12","date_gmt":"2016-03-13T18:24:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/?p=2515"},"modified":"2016-03-19T14:47:41","modified_gmt":"2016-03-19T14:47:41","slug":"2515","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/?p=2515","title":{"rendered":"Straw!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, the first lot of straw arrived.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_085307\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_085307.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was about two hundred bales, a little over a third of the total I need.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2519\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_085522\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_085522.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since the delivery vehicle couldn&#8217;t get up the hill to the site, I enlisted the help of a local farmer, who sent his two young assistants and his tractor and trailer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2520\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_092612\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_092612.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>they made two trips, between which we had to unload and remove all the straw.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2522\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_102849\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_102849.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Luckily, approximately all the people in the world arrived to help move it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2523\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_103256\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_103256.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We set up a veritable conveyor belt and got it moved almost faster than I could believe.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2524\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_103304\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_103304.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And as a bonus, I made several new friends, as my neighbour Steve brought his son and his friend, and Nora invited a friend, so a whole bunch of totally new people turned up.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMAG2475\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMAG2475.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With them, Anna, Ben, Sarah-May and me, it was a small army of helpers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2525\" alt=\"IMG_20160312_110319\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_20160312_110319.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We all sweated and ached a bit, but it really went so well and so fast.
