Maxime, above, our French volunteer, dug a massive hole for a soakaway for the runoff from the roof. He then filled it with rubble and put soil and grass back over the top. Today I bought a new water butt and downpipe system, so we will say goodbye shortly to the difficult and unwieldy gorilla tub collection system!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1267\" title=\"PICT0009\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/PICT0009.jpg\" alt=\"the new pot rack\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/PICT0009.jpg 640w, https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/PICT0009-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, I had found a suspended pot rack at a charity shop, so I spend the morning attaching it to the ceiling and devising a rope hook system that allows me to easily pull it up or down to measured places. A little extra storage goes a long way around here.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1268\" title=\"PICT0013\" src=\"http:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/PICT0013.jpg\" alt=\"blueberries and beehives\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/PICT0013.jpg 640w, https:\/\/donatedhouse.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/PICT0013-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The blueberries are starting to look good. I&#8217;ve mulched and watered them quite liberally and they are looking really healthy. There are at least a couple of hudred of them, though fewer every day. (Apparently they eat each other.
