Frivolously, we have continued to work on the gin terrace instead of making the house more airtight before winter. This has proved to be a good idea so far.
The met office are saying the warm weather could well last into October, so there’s no rush, and having a deck in this weather is making us all a lot happier.
Anna loves it.
Jack loves it.
I love it.
We mounted the doors (and glazed them.)
And I finally got to try the tenon cutter Anna bought for my birthday years ago.
Which made the spindles to go in the railing (made from a bit of holly Steve was kind enough to cut down for me) so fast and easy to cut.
Steven and I knocked the railing together out of mostly free bits, with surprisingly little trouble.
And we had a celebretory dinner on the lovely deck. Not quite done, but useable and looking so good it gave me a bit of a boost.
This is the house I made.
